Sociedad Anónima's Gianluigi Buffon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 2nd minute of the match, managed to save Sociedad Anónima from getting a goal against them. Gianluigi Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquinho Palmeira in the 4th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Santiago García in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enrique Cubria prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 6th match minute, Sociedad Anónima was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Incendio Aranda to maneuver through the defense. Enrique Cubria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Velasco Rollan in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Incendio Aranda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Akakios Kioubouroglou could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Gianluigi Buffon made a huge save. Gianluigi Buffon made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Akakios Kioubouroglou sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Atlético Arenillas defense, Velasco Rollan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Enrique Cubria. The Atlético Arenillas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Enrique Cubria should have stopped the shot. Sociedad Anónima's Gianluigi Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chiquinho Palmeira in the 17th minute of play. In the 22nd minute Akakios Kioubouroglou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gianluigi Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiquinho Palmeira in the 26th minute of play forced Sociedad Anónima's goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enrique Cubria came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Sociedad Anónima's Velasco Rollan. But to his dismay, Velasco Rollan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 32nd minute of the match Atlético Arenillas got a corner. Sociedad Anónima's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Violet Brúnchev ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Atlético Arenillas's corner Akakios Kioubouroglou fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gianluigi Buffon quite easily take care of the ball. In the 32ndth minute of the game Akakios Kioubouroglou who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sociedad Anónima's Gianluigi Buffon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Sociedad Anónima's zone, Akakios Kioubouroglou stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gianluigi Buffon came out of the goal and Akakios Kioubouroglou tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute Velasco Rollan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Cubria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Velasco Rollan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enrique Cubria was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Atlético Arenillas's Enrique Cubria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Velasco Rollan in the 47th minute of play. In the 48th minute Sociedad Anónima were awarded a corner. Niva Bruna went to the cornerflag to take it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chiquinho Palmeira to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Octavio Herrera in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gianluigi Buffon saved Sociedad Anónima from getting behind. Atlético Arenillas made a substitution. Warner Anaya replaced Octavio Herrera. 65 minutes into the match, Atlético Arenillas's goal looked a bit too open when Velasco Rollan came free, but Enrique Cubria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sociedad Anónima were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after Atlético Arenillas's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Niva Bruna took the corner. Atlético Arenillas's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Incendio Aranda 67 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Arenillas's zone, Velasco Rollan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enrique Cubria came out of the goal and Velasco Rollan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Atlético Arenillas's Frede Hesteng was substituted for Chiquinho Palmeira. Enrique Cubria had in the 78thth minute some difficulties stopping Velasco Rollan's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Velasco Rollan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 84 minutes into the game, Velasco Rollan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Enrique Cubria was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Akakios Kioubouroglou took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gianluigi Buffon. Gianluigi Buffon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. 93 minutes into the match, Velasco Rollan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enrique Cubria. Atlético Arenillas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Velasco Rollan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-7. After 98 played minutes Sociedad Anónima got a freekick which was hit by Santiago García.
