In the 13th minute, Henrique Candal made a precise shot to the right of Efim Fedotov. STORM's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After a rather tough play, STORM's Rostislav Averchenko got a free kick in the 18th minute. A collision led to Matos Velhos getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Henrique Candal hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Bolshakov came free, but Vito de Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Stepan Holodovskiy kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vito de Godoi. That made the score 1-1 in the 34 minute of play. Vito de Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Lavrentev in the 39th minute of play. After 42 minutes of play, Matos Velhos's Henrique Candal made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Efim Fedotov was left in no man's land by his defense there! STORM's Genrikh Goloulin was substituted for Anton Varlamov. Leonid Sokolov kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stepan Holodovskiy made a kick off. Efim Fedotov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sabino Vilhena, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After 59 minutes STORM's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tord Böcklund who took care of the corner kick. Efim Fedotov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Júlio Gentil in the 61st minute. In the 69th match minute, Matos Velhos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Durval Meira to maneuver through the defense. Matos Velhos's Karl Nietlisbach was substituted for Sabino Vilhena. Matos Velhos's Lee Beckford was substituted for Henrique Candal. Durval Meira hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júlio Gentil got free with Efim Fedotov in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Júlio Gentil's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Efim Fedotov was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Matos Velhos's Jiang Qing Lin got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vito de Godoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stepan Holodovskiy, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Adalberto Peres was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 78 minutes into the match. Matos Velhos:s Vito de Godoi showed great skill when he stopped Denis Lavrentev:s penalty. Mathis Plum, 82 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 90th minute of the match, Karl Nietlisbach tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Efim Fedotov saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Jiang Qing Lin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rostislav Averchenko fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored STORM's protests and gave Rostislav Averchenko a yellow card for diving instead. After 94 minutes, Jiang Qing Lin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Matos Velhos and the STORM players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of STORM booed when Matos Velhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jiang Qing Lin didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Karl Nietlisbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, STORM's Efim Fedotov got control of the ball when Lee Beckford tried to sneak it across the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
