Christian Kilstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Tristan Arioli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Karel Suryoprayogo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Olympique Fribourg the free kick. After 22 played minutes Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC got a freekick which was hit by Karel Suryoprayogo. Florian Plouffe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Attila Mesterházy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Attila Mesterházy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Steiner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Florian Plouffe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Florian Plouffe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Máté Elek got free with Tristan Arioli in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as László Madaras kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tristan Arioli. That made the score 1-2 in the 38 minute of play.

In the 50th play minute Florian Plouffe came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Attila Mesterházy. 1-3. After 57 minutes, Omar Bünder mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Olympique Fribourg and the Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Olympique Fribourg getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Omar Bünder hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by László Madaras in the 58th minute of play forced Olympique Fribourg's goalkeeper Tristan Arioli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raik Topuz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Attila Mesterházy having to make a save. Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC's Attila Mesterházy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC's Attila Mesterházy got control of the ball when Florian Plouffe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC made a substitution. The supporters of Olympique Fribourg booed when Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Máté Elek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tristan Arioli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Máté Elek in the 96th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Olympique Fribourg walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
