Jorge Iztal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tyrone Terrell, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 42 minutes into the match, Espirillo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson came free, but Jorge Iztal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Racing Miami Futbol Club defense, Aaron Cutberto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guilherme Veiga. The Racing Miami Futbol Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guilherme Veiga should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Trey Echols made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregorio Hotz in the 56th minute of play forced Racing Miami Futbol Club's goalkeeper Guilherme Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Iztal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Racing Miami Futbol Club booed when Espirillo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position.
