The supporters of Inter de Melão booed when Espirillo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Demario didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute, Espirillo FC's Cristo Elia ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Claudio-Paul Taffarel. Claudio-Paul Taffarel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

50 minutes into the match, Inter de Melão's goal looked a bit too open when Cristo Elia came free, but Claudio-Paul Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudio-Paul Taffarel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gregorio Hotz in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudio-Paul Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 82nd minute Cristo Elia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio-Paul Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Espirillo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Falcão Dias came free, but Jorge Iztal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute, Emiliano Chucho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claudio-Paul Taffarel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 93 minutes into the game, Dráuzio Mesquita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Inter de Melão's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Espirillo FC the free kick. Dráuzio Mesquita kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Rico Migachev, 94 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Espirillo FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
