If Hermengildo Cordeara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 俞锋烽 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saul Txordon in the 23rd minute of the match. Americo Herena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermengildo Cordeara in the 24th minute of play. In the 27th minute NEWELL´S OLD BOYS were awarded a corner. Desiderio Florian went to the cornerflag to take it. If Saul Txordon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 29 minutes into the match, S. D. Águilas's Saul Txordon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that 俞锋烽 narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Lorien came free, but 俞锋烽 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Águilas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Mancio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robustiano Crispo's late challenge caught a S. D. Águilas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Robustiano Crispo helped the player get up and apologised. After 43 played minutes NEWELL´S OLD BOYS got a freekick which was hit by Robustiano Crispo.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hermengildo Cordeara to make the kick off. Águilas were awarded a corner in the 66th minute after NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Domingo Sidro took the corner. Americo Herena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Lluciano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermengildo Cordeara in the 72nd minute of play forced S. D. The corner was taken by Domingo Sidro in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute, one of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for NEWELL´S OLD BOYS. The goalkeeper, 俞锋烽, was totally fooled by S. D. Águilas's Fabricio Magdaleno, who 84 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 俞锋烽 made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christian Lorien in the 86th minute. When S. D. Águilas's Delmar Cuarto in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Águilas's Delmar Cuarto was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 96th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When the final whistle sounded S. D. Águilas left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than NEWELL´S OLD BOYS.
