Spectators: 7441 (Terracing: 5582, Seating: 1711, VIP seats: 148) Özal Paye started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 8th minute Alfredo Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sílvio Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Percival Prestes managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when Riva’s Jaguar On The Back's Emílio Magalhães fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Riva’s Jaguar On The Back's Marcos da Silveira got a free kick in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrão Souza in the 14th minute of play forced Riva’s Jaguar On The Back's goalkeeper Sílvio Fontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the game, REAL VASCO RIO's Horácio Damião nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sílvio Fontes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrão Souza in the 20th minute of play forced Riva’s Jaguar On The Back's goalkeeper Sílvio Fontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Özal Paye blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Percival Prestes having to make a save. 26 minutes into the game, Pedrão Souza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Sílvio Fontes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 33rd minute, Luciano Leão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The REAL VASCO RIO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Luciano Leão might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sílvio Fontes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luciano Leão ran back to his position shaking his head. Riva’s Jaguar On The Back's Sílvio Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrão Souza in the 39th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Sílvio Fontes came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by REAL VASCO RIO's Alfredo Fernandes. But to his dismay, Alfredo Fernandes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. In the 58th minute, Özal Paye hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Özal Paye hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. REAL VASCO RIO's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by José Pedro Simão in the 63rd minute. A nice corner shot did that José Pedro Simão got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sílvio Fontes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Özal Paye hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute Horácio Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Sílvio Fontes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 79 minutes into the game, Ricardo Cosme cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Sílvio Fontes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 83rd minute, Pedrão Souza reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sílvio Fontes. The goal made the score 1-6. After a rather tough play, Riva’s Jaguar On The Back's Özal Paye got a free kick in the 91st minute. Horácio Damião could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Sílvio Fontes made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Leão in the 93rd minute of play forced Riva’s Jaguar On The Back's goalkeeper Sílvio Fontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Riva’s Jaguar On The Back's Sílvio Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Leão in the 95th minute of play. In the 96th match minute, Riva’s Jaguar On The Back was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chicão Meireles to maneuver through the defense. REAL VASCO RIO's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
