Smiddy Celts's supporters crossed their fingers, but Graeme Gordon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 4th play minute Phillip McKeochan came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Basilio Barrientos. 1-0. Phillip McKeochan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Basilio Barrientos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A well placed Phillip McKeochan short distance shot in the 9th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. Paddy Thomson might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basilio Barrientos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paddy Thomson ran back to his position shaking his head. A hard shot 15 in the game by Phillip McKeochan from a close distance when the talented Basilio Barrientos managed to make a qualified save. USS Enterprise's players were relieved. Tommy Gunn received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Basilio Barrientos came out and tried to block the shot, but Tommy Gunn slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 27th minute. If Graeme Gordon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Phillip McKeochan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phillip McKeochan in the 36th minute of play forced USS Enterprise's goalkeeper Basilio Barrientos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Phillip McKeochan came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Smiddy Celts fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phillip McKeochan couldn't finish the play. Wal McVean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Basilio Barrientos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd match minute, USS Enterprise was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bobby Lück to maneuver through the defense. 43 minutes into the match, Graeme Gordon notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of USS Enterprise's Basilio Barrientos. Basilio Barrientos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 6-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julien Zaugg was the one to do the kick off. Paddy Thomson scored 7-0 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Basilio Barrientos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 56 minutes of play, Smiddy Celts's Phillip McKeochan made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Basilio Barrientos was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 60th minute, Graeme Gordon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Smiddy Celts fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. If Graeme Gordon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 77 minutes into the match, Phillip McKeochan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Basilio Barrientos. USS Enterprise's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Phillip McKeochan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 12-0. Smiddy Celts made a substitution. Sean McDrain replaced Paddy Thomson. Basilio Barrientos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graeme McRobie, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 84th minute, Phillip McKeochan made a precise shot to the right of Basilio Barrientos. USS Enterprise's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 13-0. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 14-0 when Phillip McKeochan sped through USS Enterprise's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Basilio Barrientos. Basilio Barrientos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phillip McKeochan in the 90th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Smiddy Celts were awarded a corner. Laerte Tande went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Smiddy Celts's corner Laerte Tande fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Basilio Barrientos quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, USS Enterprise's Julien Klopp got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Laerte Tande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 96 minutes into the game, Phillip McKeochan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 15-0. Basilio Barrientos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
