The audience was convinced that Frederik Blaumüller's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dinei Pinheiro was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Florian De Vleeschauwere showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacobo Casado, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Sporting Mambo's goal looked a bit too open when Jacobo Casado came free, but Florian De Vleeschauwere reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SeleSantos FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 31st match minute, Sporting Mambo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wincenty Ranowiecki to maneuver through the defense. After 32 played minutes SeleSantos FC got a freekick which was hit by Niilo Mikkola. Frederik Blaumüller recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Sporting Mambo's Florian De Vleeschauwere got control of the ball when Niilo Mikkola tried to sneak it across the goal line. Florian De Vleeschauwere took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leif Törnqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Niilo Mikkola to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute of the match, Eric Mattsson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dinei Pinheiro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pedrão Godoi charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedrão Godoi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 86th minute, one of SeleSantos FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SeleSantos FC. After some careless play in the SeleSantos FC defense, Rajmond Petris kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dinei Pinheiro. The SeleSantos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dinei Pinheiro should have stopped the shot. Florian De Vleeschauwere showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niilo Mikkola, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Frederik Blaumüller struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Dinei Pinheiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting Mambo. The Sporting Mambo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sporting Mambo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
