Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif Törnqvist in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rot-Weiss-Essen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Niilo Mikkola was slow to take the kick. During this time SeleSantos FC's players had a chance to rest. During this time SeleSantos FC's players had a chance to rest. 33 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Leif Törnqvist came free, but August Hoffmanns reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niilo Mikkola in the 34th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The wind increased when Niilo Mikkola made the kick off in the second half. Niilo Mikkola's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but August Hoffmanns read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Mesut Özil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximilian Henning in the 57th minute of play. After 64 played minutes SeleSantos FC got a freekick which was hit by João Pedro Ortiz. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dinei Pinheiro saved SeleSantos FC from getting behind. If Anestis Kotsopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. August Hoffmanns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niilo Mikkola in the 70th minute of play. SeleSantos FC were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after Rot-Weiss-Essen's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Niilo Mikkola took the corner. Daniel Montenegro made a great header on SeleSantos FC's corner, it was just that Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 74th minute Hugo Haupt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. August Hoffmanns had great luck who in the 75thth minute grab hold of the ball when Niilo Mikkola from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After 76 minutes Rot-Weiss-Essen's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Niilo Mikkola who took care of the corner kick. The SeleSantos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dinei Pinheiro should have stopped the shot. 89 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Leif Törnqvist came free, but August Hoffmanns reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92ndth minute of the game Niilo Mikkola who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niilo Mikkola in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck August Hoffmanns prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The SeleSantos FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
