João Augusto Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Osmar Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cecilio Tristan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Cecilio Tristan came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Abuba Akotonon FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cecilio Tristan couldn't finish the play. The throw-in from J.J Okocha in the 9th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by XV de Indaial's Sílvio Coutinho. A collision led to XV de Indaial getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Sílvio Linares hit a great ball. In the 12th minute Cecilio Tristan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osmar Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by J.J Okocha in the 14th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by XV de Indaial's Sílvio Coutinho. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cecilio Tristan in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Osmar Antunes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Osmar Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cecilio Tristan in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cecilio Tristan in the 24th minute of play forced XV de Indaial's goalkeeper Osmar Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. XV de Indaial's Osmar Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cecilio Tristan in the 26th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Cecilio Tristan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Osmar Antunes was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. In the 29th minute, Ovidio Raymundo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hugo Orlando Gatti was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cecilio Tristan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Cecilio Tristan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 58th minute, Abuba Akotonon FC's Vânderson Barbosa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Osmar Antunes. Osmar Antunes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. With a little luck, XV de Indaial's Osmar Antunes got control of the ball when Cecilio Tristan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Emanuel Aurre hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Osmar Antunes made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Cecilio Tristan sent off a good shot on target. In the 76th match minute, XV de Indaial was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Altay Timurkan to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, XV de Indaial's Sílvio Linares got a free kick in the 79th minute. Ovidio Raymundo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hugo Orlando Gatti having to make a save. After some careless play in the XV de Indaial defense, Cecilio Tristan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Osmar Antunes. The XV de Indaial fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Osmar Antunes should have stopped the shot. Altay Timurkan kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Genaro Elivareo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Osmar Antunes made a huge save. When the match was over Abuba Akotonon FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than XV de Indaial throughout the match.
