Hernan Ellande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Bertoni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elpidio Espiridion made a kick off. Hernan Ellande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Sepúlveda in the 55th minute of play. After some careless play in the Academia Club defense, Bruno Sepúlveda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hernan Ellande. The Academia Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hernan Ellande should have stopped the shot. 60 minutes into the match, Elpidio Espiridion notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Academia Club's Hernan Ellande. Hernan Ellande was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Liu Chang Hong in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hernan Ellande saved Academia Club from getting behind. 70 minutes into the match, Bruno Sepúlveda dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hernan Ellande, 1-4. Camilo Blasco's late challenge caught a LA IMPRENTA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Camilo Blasco helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd minute, Camilo Blasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
