Academia Club:s Hernan Ellande showed great skill when he stopped Juan Fernando Pratto:s penalty. Hernan Ellande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Raymond in the 14th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Academia Club's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Raymond came free, but Hernan Ellande reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute Romulo Lalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernan Ellande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 19 played minutes Santa Fe got a freekick which was hit by Eraldo Lalli. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Raymond in the 21st minute of play forced Academia Club's goalkeeper Hernan Ellande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hernan Ellande didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilberto Raymond went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio-César Dely Valdés in the 29th minute of play forced Santa Fe's goalkeeper Shao Jing Yuan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th match minute, Santa Fe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Raymond to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute, Santa Fe's Juan Fernando Pratto dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Roque Roso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hernan Ellande read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. In the 44th minute, Juan Fernando Pratto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santa Fe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0.

The wind increased when Romulo Lalla made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Santa Fe's goal looked a bit too open when Yuan Jian came free, but Shao Jing Yuan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Academia Club's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Fernando Pratto came free, but Hernan Ellande reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio-César Dely Valdés ran back to his position shaking his head. Hernan Ellande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steve Rogers in the 72nd minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Academia Club's Shao Jing Yuan threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Julio-César Dely Valdés, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gilberto Raymond blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hernan Ellande having to make a save. Santa Fe made a substitution. Santi Ogazón replaced Rolando Madaleno. Hernan Ellande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Raymond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Academia Club's Severo Goiz got a free kick in the 90th minute. Juan Fernando Pratto struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Hernan Ellande didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santa Fe. If Yuan Jian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
