The crowd rose to their feet as Ponte do Carro's Simão Boaventura slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Godfredo Cordarrol. That made the score 3-0 after 25 minutes of play. Renatinho Brodel walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post.
