The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Czarna Staszów got a freekick which was hit by Benedykt Czerner. If Sorin Nicorici had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Czarna Staszów's Teobald Szkarpiak was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 6th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wlodzimierz Wydrych during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Wlodzimierz Wydrych hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 17th match minute, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aristide Fetea to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Mircea Jupân ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arkadiusz Traczewski was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 24 played minutes Czarna Staszów got a freekick which was hit by Arkadiusz Kaminski. Arkadiusz Kaminski kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Golo Phoenix tried to score from far away in the 26th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Teobald Szkarpiak who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Dacian Ghițescu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Teobald Szkarpiak's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 30thth minute, Dacian Ghițescu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Golo Phoenix hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Dacian Ghițescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ludomil Pierz in the 39th minute of play. Dacian Ghițescu made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Teobald Szkarpiak sent off a good shot on target. Teobald Szkarpiak who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Dacian Ghițescu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Czarna Staszów were awarded a corner in the 46th minute after PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Teobald Szkarpiak took the corner. Strong Phoenix thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Dacian Ghițescu, a very annoying self made goal in the 46th minute which led to 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teobald Szkarpiak made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Czarna Staszów's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Mircea Jupân fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 57 minutes into the game, Golo Phoenix was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Czarna Staszów the free kick. After 57 played minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a freekick which was hit by Golo Phoenix. 62 minutes into the match, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goal looked a bit too open when Klement Madajczyk came free, but Dacian Ghițescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ludomil Pierz in the 69th minute of play forced PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Dacian Ghițescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Klement Madajczyk struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Dacian Ghițescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Czarna Staszów. After a rather tough play, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Tiberiu Rotariu got a free kick in the 78th minute. With 81 minutes on the clock, Benedykt Czerner commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 82 played minutes Czarna Staszów got a freekick which was hit by Benedykt Czerner. Golo Phoenix blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arkadiusz Traczewski having to make a save. After 95 minutes, Arkadiusz Kaminski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Czarna Staszów and the PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca players grew even worse after the yellow card. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
