In a very dangerous position, a player in Mayhem Sharks fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 5th minute. Penalty! Wellington de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remus Turcu in the 16th minute of play. When Jailson Rossi came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Mayhem Sharks fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jailson Rossi couldn't finish the play. Mayhem Sharks's Jailson Rossi managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Placido Santxol in the 35 minute of the game. Mircea Calboreanu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Osvaldo da Mata went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Mayhem Sharks's Jailson Rossi got a free kick in the 41st minute. When Jailson Rossi came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Mayhem Sharks fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jailson Rossi couldn't finish the play. FC U Cluj-N made a substitution. George Balotă replaced Cezar Coja. After the first half FC U Cluj-N were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After taking down the ball on Mayhem Sharks's corner Osvaldo da Mata fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mircea Calboreanu quite easily take care of the ball. In the 92nd minute, Cazimir Cosor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wellington de Almeida was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After 96 minutes of play, FC U Cluj-N's A.J. Teleagă made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wellington de Almeida was left in no man's land by his defense there!
