The ball went over the crossbar instead. 8 minutes into the match, Florida Gulf Coast's goalkeeper Luis Nardo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mauro Primeiro. Luis Nardo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mauro Primeiro in the 8th minute. Luis Nardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Primeiro in the 10th minute of the match. In the 12th minute of the game Vilhelm Larsson made a throw-in which Bartosz Erland played forward. 13 minutes into the match, Florida Gulf Coast's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Primeiro came free, but Luis Nardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Lukáš Katačić ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ovidiu Adrian was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Luis Nardo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tiger De Hond showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 19 minute of play. After 24 played minutes Florida Gulf Coast got a freekick which was hit by John James. Luis Nardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Primeiro in the 25th minute of the match. Lukáš Katačić's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ovidiu Adrian read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute Çağdaş Yuvakuran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Nardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Bartosz Erland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd minute Lukáš Katačić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Adrian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Nardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiger De Hond in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lukáš Katačić in the 36th minute of play forced Poli Timisoara's goalkeeper Ovidiu Adrian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A throw-in in the 37th minute of the game was made by Vilhelm Larsson with Çağdaş Yuvakuran as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Çağdaş Yuvakuran charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Çağdaş Yuvakuran the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lukáš Katačić in the 40th minute of play forced Poli Timisoara's goalkeeper Ovidiu Adrian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vilhelm Larsson made in the 42nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Çağdaş Yuvakuran however managed to control. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lukáš Katačić stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Geronimo Bonadona kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. The corner led Poli Timisoara's Mauro Primeiro to fire away a dangerous shot which Luis Nardo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 57th minute, John James hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Çağdaş Yuvakuran struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Luis Nardo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Poli Timisoara. 67 minutes into the match, Florida Gulf Coast's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Primeiro came free, but Luis Nardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lukáš Katačić did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Ovidiu Adrian 68 minutes into the match. If Lukáš Katačić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute Mauro Primeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Nardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mauro Primeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 79 minutes, Lukáš Katačić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Florida Gulf Coast's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lukáš Katačić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Poli Timisoara getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Vilhelm Larsson hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the match, Florida Gulf Coast's Lukáš Katačić sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ovidiu Adrian narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 83 minutes into the match, Florida Gulf Coast's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Primeiro came free, but Luis Nardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Nardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Primeiro in the 86th minute of play. Luis Nardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Primeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 92 minutes into the game, John James was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Florida Gulf Coast's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poli Timisoara the free kick. The supporters of Poli Timisoara booed when Florida Gulf Coast was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. John James didn't get a good kick on the ball. Florida Gulf Coast's Nestor Inko was substituted for Lukáš Katačić. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Florida Gulf Coast's goalkeeper Luis Nardo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
