Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ola Håkansson in the 8th minute of play. In the 12th minute Edgar Albohm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valter Wallgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from German Cano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Woopbongo's Valter Wallgren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Woopbongo from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Valter Wallgren. That made the score 1-0 after 21 minutes of play. 27 minutes in the game, Alfredo Martins dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ola Håkansson in the 33rd minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 66th minute of play forced Woopbongo's goalkeeper Valter Wallgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Tim Månsson fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. After some careless play in the Woopbongo defense, Nestor Paraibano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valter Wallgren. The Woopbongo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valter Wallgren should have stopped the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Marquês de Herval fully deserved thier win.
