No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fulgencio Gartzi to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan-Olof Eliasson got free with Sofoklis Prinianakis in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 60th play minute Fulgencio Gartzi came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Sofoklis Prinianakis. 2-1. 63 minutes into the match, La Gallardeta's Jan-Olof Eliasson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sofoklis Prinianakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. La Gallardeta's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the La Gallardeta players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Henley on Thames United.
