Justo Ruy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carl Van Kamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Mac Mon sped through NUMBA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Justo Ruy. Jonatan Palban could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Luc Van Hinnendael made a huge save. Justo Ruy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xavies Muñagorri's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute, Daniel Aztore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute Xavies Muñagorri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justo Ruy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Bruges's goalkeeper Luc Van Hinnendael, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 44 minutes into the match, Mac Mon notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of NUMBA's Justo Ruy.
