The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Villegas Villagarcia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Tomasini in the 3rd minute of play. The corner led ALIANZA 1901's Rojelio Daza to fire away a dangerous shot which Villegas Villagarcia despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ruben Iglesias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bieito Luzuriaga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. In the 10th minute Ruben Iglesias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bieito Luzuriaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, ALIANZA 1901's Zarbonin Riesco got a free kick in the 12th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Ruben Iglesias managed to get in a good position for a shot. YerBaTerOs's supporters rose to their feet, but Ruben Iglesias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bieito Luzuriaga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 23 minutes into the match, Alfredo Tomasini notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of YerBaTerOs's Villegas Villagarcia. Villegas Villagarcia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 28th match minute, ALIANZA 1901 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zarbonin Riesco to maneuver through the defense. Bieito Luzuriaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruben Iglesias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Tomasini in the 32nd minute of play forced YerBaTerOs's goalkeeper Villegas Villagarcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ruben Iglesias in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bieito Luzuriaga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Villegas Villagarcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richie Ason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th match minute, ALIANZA 1901 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richie Ason to maneuver through the defense. Ruben Iglesias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bieito Luzuriaga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Ruben Iglesias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Héctor Gordon hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. YerBaTerOs's Villegas Villagarcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Escobar in the 43rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ruben Iglesias in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bieito Luzuriaga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. YerBaTerOs's Lucio Bruna was substituted for Héctor Gordon. YerBaTerOs's Zoil Soltero was substituted for Ruben Iglesias.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luis Escobar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Ascencio Puente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 55 minutes, Richie Ason mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ALIANZA 1901 and the YerBaTerOs players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in ALIANZA 1901's zone, Loco Fondos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bieito Luzuriaga came out of the goal and Loco Fondos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute of the match, Andres Anguciana got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bieito Luzuriaga was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When YerBaTerOs's Lucio Bruna in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ALIANZA 1901's goalie prevented a goal. Alfredo Tomasini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Villegas Villagarcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bieito Luzuriaga made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Loco Fondos sent off a good shot on target. Bieito Luzuriaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucio Bruna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the match, ALIANZA 1901's goalkeeper Bieito Luzuriaga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andres Anguciana. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andres Anguciana in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bieito Luzuriaga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 88th minute, Andres Anguciana reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bieito Luzuriaga. The goal made the score 2-2. Andres Anguciana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bieito Luzuriaga having to interfere. After 93 played minutes YerBaTerOs got a freekick which was hit by Lucio Bruna. Villegas Villagarcia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Escobar in the 95th minute of play. With a little luck, ALIANZA 1901's Bieito Luzuriaga got control of the ball when Andres Anguciana tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 97 played minutes ALIANZA 1901 got a freekick which was hit by Pancho Tabernilla. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
