In the 35th minute Ciccio Bussi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breno Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Giacomo Casanova tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aníbal Sá to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Aníbal Sá slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Giacomo Casanova. That made the score 1-1 after 52 minutes of play. In the 59th minute, Dimitar Berbatov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Haroldo Dante was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1.
