Spectators: 7677 (Terracing: 5758, Seating: 1766, VIP seats: 153) When Vinicio Junior came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the Jenipapo SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vinicio Junior couldn't finish the play. In the 4th minute, Bernardino Ofelio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Laurita FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. David Seaman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardino Ofelio in the 7th minute of play. Laurita FC's Šair Lupin got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 11th minute Narciso Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Seaman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnulfo Kinsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurício Arósio in the 13th minute of play. After having played for 16 minutes, Bernardino Ofelio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laurita FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardino Ofelio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 23rd minute Aníbal Alagoano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulfo Kinsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Jenipapo SC's goal looked a bit too open when Narciso Vargas came free, but David Seaman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Bernardino Ofelio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Seaman. Jenipapo SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bernardino Ofelio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. David Seaman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Šair Lupin's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raphael Cunha in the 37th minute of play forced Laurita FC's goalkeeper Arnulfo Kinsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnulfo Kinsen came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Jenipapo SC's Raphael Cunha. But to his dismay, Raphael Cunha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Laurita FC's Arnulfo Kinsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aníbal Alagoano in the 46th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

With 54 minutes on the clock, Zé Carlos Monteiro commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Jenipapo SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 54th minute. Penalty! David Seaman had in the 56thth minute some difficulties stopping Csaba Szénási's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Laurita FC made a substitution. Mario Alberto Kempes replaced Šair Lupin. In the 72nd minute Raphael Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulfo Kinsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustavo-Hernán Díaz kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Laurita FC's Arnulfo Kinsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinicio Junior in the 79th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raphael Cunha in the 81st minute of play forced Laurita FC's goalkeeper Arnulfo Kinsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Laurita FC's goalkeeper Arnulfo Kinsen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. David Seaman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Alberto Kempes in the 88th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Jenipapo SC's Arcan Siralp got a free kick in the 90th minute. Mario Alberto Kempes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. David Seaman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Laurita FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Jenipapo SC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
