They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Rosendo Gustau made an important save on a dangerous shot by Waldemar Pleban in the 58th minute. After a rather tough play, Distribuidora 25 de mayo's Robustiano Txeru got a free kick in the 61st minute. KS Ruch Chorzów's André Luiz Xavier was substituted for Klement Rzeszutko. After recieving a nice pass, KS Ruch Chorzów's Dobromir Gdowski tried to score from far away in the 63rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Rosendo Gustau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob Budovnits, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. KS Ruch Chorzów's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
