With a left leg Alf Engman saved AC United from getting behind. 24 minutes into the match, AC United's goal looked a bit too open when Facundo Feria came free, but Alf Engman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, AC United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernt Carlberg to maneuver through the defense. Joel Lindman came free with the goalkeeper in the 34th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gianluigi Donnarumma could save by the left post. Gianluigi Donnarumma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robin Holmgren in the 35th minute of the match. Joel Lindman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute Facundo Feria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alf Engman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Joel Lindman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 46 minutes, Ingmar Bergman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PERSPOLIS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ingmar Bergman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. PERSPOLIS were awarded a corner in the 48th minute after AC United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Honorio Carceles took the corner. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Lindman to make the kick off. Facundo Feria in the 54thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Gianluigi Donnarumma came out of the goal and Bernt Carlberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Facundo Feria's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alf Engman was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. AC United were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing PERSPOLIS to leave the ground with a draw.
