After a defensive mix-up in Borussia Dortmund's zone, Ong Bongo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yao Zhan Sang came out of the goal and Ong Bongo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute Vito Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yao Zhan Sang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 32 played minutes FC Bemowo got a freekick which was hit by Hieronim Cisek. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar Clavijo in the 35th minute of play forced FC Bemowo's goalkeeper Dariusz Bielejewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 minutes FC Bemowo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Yakup Sargut who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Borussia Dortmund's corner Yakup Sargut fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dariusz Bielejewski quite easily take care of the ball. Yao Zhan Sang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hieronim Cisek, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Hieronim Cisek hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ong Bongo to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Baltazar Clavijo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Dariusz Bielejewski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernando Grover in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dariusz Bielejewski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 64 minutes into the match, FC Bemowo's Vito Seco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yao Zhan Sang narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Yao Zhan Sang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ong Bongo in the 67th minute of the match. Fernando Grover took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dariusz Bielejewski. Fatih-Sultan Mehmet hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicasio Cugat got free with Yao Zhan Sang in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Nicasio Cugat took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Yao Zhan Sang to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Borussia Dortmund getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Mathias Laborda hit a great ball. In the 82nd match minute, Borussia Dortmund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias Laborda to maneuver through the defense. Yao Zhan Sang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicasio Cugat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Borussia Dortmund's Yao Zhan Sang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vito Seco in the 85th minute of play. FC Bemowo's Dariusz Bielejewski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Grover in the 89th minute of play. If Nicasio Cugat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Borussia Dortmund made a substitution.
