But to his dismay, Nikolas Kafkalas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 12 minutes into the game, Boca Juniors's Torgny Landin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sérgio Vargas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 15th minute of the match Münir Salih sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sérgio Vargas skillfully saved the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jens-Åke Källberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nikolas Kafkalas. Sérgio Vargas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torgny Landin in the 32nd minute of play. The corner led Boca Juniors's Özkan Kayaer to fire away a dangerous shot which Sérgio Vargas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Lindholm couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, FC GURZUN's Nae Hurmuzache got a free kick in the 95th minute. The Boca Juniors players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
