Marc van Nistelrooij started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Faria. Hermengildo Nesor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With an all-out effort, Winthont FC's Qiu Chuan Ran threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hermengildo Nesor, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 8th minute, Hermengildo Nesor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Qiu Chuan Ran was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Hermengildo Nesor succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 11th playminute. 18 minutes into the match, Winthont FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Faria came free, but Dennis Beerthuis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Qiu Chuan Ran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermengildo Nesor, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Qiu Chuan Ran made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Marc van Nistelrooij sent off a good shot on target. Dennis Beerthuis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Faria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goal looked a bit too open when Hermengildo Nesor came free, but Qiu Chuan Ran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute of the match Igor Fujara sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Qiu Chuan Ran skillfully saved the ball. After 39 minutes Winthont FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Israel Carvalhal who took care of the corner kick. In the 41st minute Gonzalo Lixandro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dennis Beerthuis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute, Hermengildo Nesor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Dennis Beerthuis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodolfo Faria in the 54th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hermengildo Nesor in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Qiu Chuan Ran prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 64th minute Marc van Nistelrooij shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Qiu Chuan Ran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goalkeeper Qiu Chuan Ran, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dennis Beerthuis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raimundo Ventura in the 73rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonzalo Lixandro in the 77th minute of play forced Winthont FC's goalkeeper Dennis Beerthuis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Qiu Chuan Ran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sixto Gorbea in the 78th minute of play. Raimundo Ventura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Beerthuis having to interfere. 93 minutes into the game, Yağızalp Öznur was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Winthont FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. the free kick. Yağızalp Öznur hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Gonzalo Lixandro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dennis Beerthuis. That made the score 3-1 in the 94 minute of play. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Winthont FC had won, even though Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. had held more of the ball.
