A collision led to Santa Margarita getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Igor Furtado hit a great ball. After 30 minutes of play, Belgrano de Pibasog's Judas Verón made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pontus Nordström was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Witomir Pisarczyk put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Bernardo Raggio. Pontus Nordström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Judas Verón, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 40th minute Witomir Pisarczyk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Raggio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Judas Verón stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvio Abadia in the 51st minute of play forced Santa Margarita's goalkeeper Pontus Nordström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Witomir Pisarczyk got free with Bernardo Raggio in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bernardo Raggio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mauro Icardi in the 86th minute. 94 minutes into the game, one of Belgrano de Pibasog:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 95th minute there was a penalty for Santa Margarita. Eduardo De Francesco stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bernardo Raggio. 3-2. Belgrano de Pibasog's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
