Zacarias Ascencio was out of position in the 3 minute of play, and Aşır Zabit capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Aşır Zabit really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Zacarias Ascencio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aşır Zabit, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zacarias Ascencio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aşır Zabit in the 13th minute of play. After 17 played minutes KOCAELİSPOR got a freekick which was hit by Boğaçhan Tanır. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benny Niva in the 19th minute of play forced KOCAELİSPOR's goalkeeper Şemsettin Tuyuğ to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 22nd play minutes Aşır Zabit shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Zacarias Ascencio and just under the crossbar into goal. The supporters of Celta de Virgos booed when KOCAELİSPOR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aykut Nadi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Celta de Virgos's goalkeeper Zacarias Ascencio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Celta de Virgos's Christos Skondras quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Fiori Britto, made in the 32nd minute of the game. Celta de Virgos's Zacarias Ascencio managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fiori Britto in the 37 minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Davut Erek was the one to do the kick off. Davut Erek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. KOCAELİSPOR made a substitution. Rafet Hazin replaced Ediz Tekdoğan. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Davut Erek put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Zacarias Ascencio. In the 74th minute, Davut Erek ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zacarias Ascencio was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Davut Erek in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zacarias Ascencio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Şemsettin Tuyuğ made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when David Astudillo sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to KOCAELİSPOR getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Rafet Hazin hit a great ball. If Davut Erek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Davut Erek's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zacarias Ascencio was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. In the 86thth minute of the game Davut Erek who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Celta de Virgos's Zacarias Ascencio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 88 minutes of play, KOCAELİSPOR's Davut Erek made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zacarias Ascencio was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Seyfullah Tuğsavan in the 91st minute of play forced Celta de Virgos's goalkeeper Zacarias Ascencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 93 played minutes Celta de Virgos got a freekick which was hit by Christos Skondras. Zacarias Ascencio came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by KOCAELİSPOR's Davut Erek. But to his dismay, Davut Erek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. After 98 minutes, Dario Elivareo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Celta de Virgos and the KOCAELİSPOR players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Celta de Virgos's Dario Elivareo got a free kick in the 98th minute. The supporters of KOCAELİSPOR booed when Celta de Virgos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 100 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardino Rosio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 100 minutes, Davut Erek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KOCAELİSPOR's supporters crossed their fingers, but Davut Erek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
