Marcos Basso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. With 23 minutes on the clock, Gelu Plopșor commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 23 minutes into the game, one of The Shadows:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Marcos Basso had in the 26thth minute some difficulties stopping Eliseo Mano's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Fajteri's Kostja Vertot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bastian Von Axelson in the 29th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Fajteri's zone, Berndt Edelweiss stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kostja Vertot came out of the goal and Berndt Edelweiss tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eliseo Mano might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Basso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Mano ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcos Basso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Mano in the 32nd minute of the match. The supporters of The Shadows booed when Fajteri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomas Filipović didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eliseo Mano to strike the kick off in the second half. The Shadows's Slawomir Cisek was substituted for Berndt Edelweiss. Slawomir Cisek made in the 58th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Fajteri's Milisav Kovše. 62 minutes into the game, Feručo Camlek was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fajteri's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Shadows the free kick. Kostja Vertot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herbert Holmgren in the 64th minute of play. Marcos Basso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Filipović in the 65th minute of the match. Fajteri's Thomas Filipović got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fajteri's Tiburcio Abadie was substituted for Leandro Paredes. Fajteri's Arnulf Vidmar was substituted for Feručo Camlek. Fajteri's Armando Vogrinčič was substituted for Eliseo Mano. The Shadows's Pawel Gibowski was substituted for Bo á Bø. Kostja Vertot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Slawomir Cisek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute, Armando Vogrinčič ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Basso was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Many of The Shadows's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. The Shadows may have spent more time on the ball, but Fajteri were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
