Gigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaltino Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Ajax's Chad Smith got a free kick in the 21st minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gigi Buffon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Belo Academy booed when Ajax was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danilo Maurino didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernardinho Leão in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gigi Buffon saved Ajax from getting behind. 42 minutes into the match, Ajax's goal looked a bit too open when 毛风振 came free, but Gigi Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46thth minute of the game 毛风振 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ajax's Gigi Buffon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tonton Eren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Luís Eduardo Mazza made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and 毛风振 made a kick off. The referee showed Cheng Li Shi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 65th match minute, Ajax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cheng Li Shi to maneuver through the defense. Gigi Buffon was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from José Augusto de Andrade. Adhemar Penha kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After having played for 76 minutes, Bernardinho Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Belo Academy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardinho Leão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 78 played minutes Belo Academy got a freekick which was hit by Luizão Dinamite. The audience was convinced that Tonton Eren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luís Eduardo Mazza was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. 毛风振 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigi Buffon having to interfere.
