Eladio Escalona came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Tierra del Fuego FC's Ismael Baumer. But to his dismay, Ismael Baumer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Tierra del Fuego FC's Natalio Heli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubén Martínez in the 8th minute of play. Ismael Baumer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Colo-Colo's Rubén Martínez got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Colo-Colo's attentive Avram Chițac managed to snatch the ball when Saturnino Batista made a throw-in in the 20th minute of the game. Rubén Martínez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Natalio Heli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Colo-Colo's Rubén Martínez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Natalio Heli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Colo-Colo's Honorio Droguett was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Natalio Heli in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 39th minute, Rubén Martínez made a precise shot to the right of Natalio Heli. Tierra del Fuego FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. When Rubén Martínez came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Colo-Colo fans jumped to their feet. Tierra del Fuego FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rubén Martínez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Tierra del Fuego FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
