Rune Jarstein was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emiliano Giusto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. Emiliano Giusto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rune Jarstein having to make a save. Rune Jarstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliano Giusto in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Old BaoBaB Accademy's goal looked a bit too open when Wilhelm Nienhaus came free, but Fabiano Violento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Old BaoBaB Accademy's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Moritz Hasenjäger was slow to take the kick. During this time Hertha 1969's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Hertha 1969's Moritz Hasenjäger to fire away a dangerous shot which Fabiano Violento despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 32nd minute, Junior Junel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hertha 1969's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Emiliano Giusto scored to the left of an out of position Rune Jarstein, making the score, 2-1. Anfilogino Furia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rune Jarstein having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Emiliano Giusto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Jarstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emiliano Giusto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emiliano Giusto to strike the kick off in the second half. If Emiliano Giusto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 59 minutes in the game Stefan Mayer did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Moritz Hasenjäger. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Paulo da Silva got free with Fabiano Violento in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 64 minutes into the match, Old BaoBaB Accademy's goalkeeper Fabiano Violento had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Paulo da Silva. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anfilogino Furia in the 65th minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Old BaoBaB Accademy made a substitution. Emilio Buffone replaced Emiliano Giusto. In the 68th minute of the match Old BaoBaB Accademy got a corner. Hertha 1969's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Robert Pirès ran over to the corner to take the kick. Robert Pirès made a great header on Old BaoBaB Accademy's corner, it was just that Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein managed to reach the ball for a save. Anfilogino Furia struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Rune Jarstein didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Old BaoBaB Accademy. When Emilio Buffone came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Old BaoBaB Accademy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emilio Buffone couldn't finish the play. Fabiano Violento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilhelm Nienhaus in the 80th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Buffone came free, but Rune Jarstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Paulo da Silva took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabiano Violento. Fabiano Violento dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 91st minute, Gigel Elenescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabiano Violento was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. After having played for 94 minutes, Emilio Buffone managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Old BaoBaB Accademy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emilio Buffone was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Hertha 1969 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hertha 1969 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
