When Celedonio Florinio came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Matungo Gaúcho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celedonio Florinio couldn't finish the play. Marcinho Sena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Rogério Ceni made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Matungo Gaúcho's zone, Cumhur Günay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ademir Baptista came out of the goal and Cumhur Günay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A sloppy throw-in by Diego Baresi in the 71st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Guillermo Frank. Diego Baresi hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Teodoro Hartz struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Ademir Baptista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Belgrano LOS PIRATAS. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Cumhur Günay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's supporters rose to their feet, but Cumhur Günay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ademir Baptista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Josué Pinheiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Rogério Ceni made a huge save. Matungo Gaúcho's Ademir Baptista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Hartz in the 80th minute of play. Ademir Baptista made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The Belgrano LOS PIRATAS players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
