Seating: 1762, VIP seats: 153) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nils Hovermann started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cedro Pantoja in the 3rd minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Álvaro Perpiñán showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gigel Elenescu in the 8th minute of the match. Álvaro Perpiñán made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigel Elenescu in the 13th minute of play. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sporting Burgas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Moritz Hasenjäger was slow to take the kick. During this time Hertha 1969's players had a chance to rest. Gigel Elenescu was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After 16 played minutes Sporting Burgas got a freekick which was hit by Cedro Pantoja. Rune Jarstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Davor Šuker, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Cedro Pantoja took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rune Jarstein. Rune Jarstein dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davor Šuker in the 27th minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Hertha 1969's Álvaro Perpiñán threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nils Hovermann, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The corner ended in Moritz Hasenjäger almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sporting Burgas's Álvaro Perpiñán did a great save. 36 minutes into the game, Sporting Burgas's Ke Xiong Chen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rune Jarstein made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nils Hovermann got free with Álvaro Perpiñán in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Álvaro Perpiñán made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Nils Hovermann sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute Davor Šuker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Jarstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sporting Burgas's Álvaro Perpiñán played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nils Hovermann in the 41st minute of play. Mac Aron kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. A hard shot by Moritz Hasenjäger from long distance, 45 minutes into the match, got Álvaro Perpiñán's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vintilă Ghițulescu in the 46th minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Davor Šuker made a kick off. Vintilă Ghițulescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Álvaro Perpiñán took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gigel Elenescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sporting Burgas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Moritz Hasenjäger was slow to take the kick. During this time Hertha 1969's players had a chance to rest. Kristian Oswald made a great header on Hertha 1969's corner, it was just that Sporting Burgas's Álvaro Perpiñán managed to reach the ball for a save. 61 minutes into the game, Hertha 1969's Kristian Oswald nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Álvaro Perpiñán made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Hertha 1969 made a substitution. Wilhelm Nienhaus replaced Nils Hovermann. Joel Ferrer hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Sporting Burgas's Antonio Fioriti was substituted for Vintilă Ghițulescu. After a rather tough play, Sporting Burgas's Joel Ferrer got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 73 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's Moritz Hasenjäger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Álvaro Perpiñán narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wilhelm Nienhaus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Perpiñán having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Sporting Burgas's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Paulo da Silva came free, but Álvaro Perpiñán reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Álvaro Perpiñán took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilhelm Nienhaus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's goal looked a bit too open when Cedro Pantoja came free, but Rune Jarstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rune Jarstein was out of position in the 85 minute of play, and Antonio Fioriti capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Antonio Fioriti really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. 88 minutes into the match, Kristian Oswald notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Sporting Burgas's Álvaro Perpiñán. Álvaro Perpiñán was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 91st minute Kristian Oswald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Álvaro Perpiñán saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Hertha 1969 getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Kristian Oswald hit a great ball. Rune Jarstein made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cedro Pantoja in the 93rd minute.
