In the 20th minute of the match Catarinense F.C. got a corner. Romos FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jorge Ler ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zhu Chao Guang in the 29th minute of play forced Romos FC's goalkeeper Ovidiu Cosâmbescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Romos FC booed when Catarinense F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Kauldi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 55 played minutes, Romos FC's Dinu Andone shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Chilavert came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. The Romos FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Catarinense F.C. were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
