A well-hit corner resulted in Tanel Kiik heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 10 minutes into the match, FC CSKA's goal looked a bit too open when Petruț Fințescu came free, but Georgi Velinov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Georgi Velinov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petruț Fințescu in the 18th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Ruperto Matei made a precise shot to the right of Georgi Velinov. FC CSKA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 26 minutes into the match, Argentinos Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Refik Ülgü came free, but Rigoberto Nazario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th match minute, FC CSKA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Todor Yanchev to maneuver through the defense. Rigoberto Nazario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruslan Dzhalev in the 82nd minute of play. Ruslan Dzhalev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rigoberto Nazario having to interfere. In the 85th minute of the match, Arnulfo Roderigo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rigoberto Nazario saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rigoberto Nazario made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ruslan Dzhalev in the 86th minute. After 92 played minutes FC CSKA got a freekick which was hit by Marc Hainl. Argentinos Juniors's Mats Falch couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC CSKA. FC CSKA's Georgi Velinov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petruț Fințescu in the 94th minute of play. Rigoberto Nazario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnulfo Roderigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
