The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC CSKA's goalkeeper Georgi Velinov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bogdan Imbor kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 10th minute Georgi Dimitrov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hieronim Gdowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Georgi Velinov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilmar Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the game, Teofil Nowak threw the ball into play from the sideline. FC CSKA's Georgi Dimitrov quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Hieronim Gdowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Téo Vieira, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After 27 minutes of play, FC CSKA's Ahmet Refik Ülgü made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hieronim Gdowski was left in no man's land by his defense there! FC CSKA's Georgi Velinov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sever Corbu in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 35th minute of play forced Słoneczna2003 Lidzbark W's goalkeeper Hieronim Gdowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute FC CSKA were awarded a corner. Georgi Dimitrov went to the cornerflag to take it. Stasio Borczak thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Hieronim Gdowski, a very annoying self made goal in the 37th minute which led to 0-2. Słoneczna2003 Lidzbark W's Bogdan Imbor managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tanel Kiik in the 40 minute of the game. FC CSKA were furious when Hans Danielsson was red carded, 44 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After a rather tough play, FC CSKA's Hans Danielsson got a free kick in the 45th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Borys Rakowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Słoneczna2003 Lidzbark W's supporters rose to their feet, but Borys Rakowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Georgi Velinov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC CSKA's Arnulfo Roderigo was substituted for Téo Vieira. The supporters of FC CSKA booed when Słoneczna2003 Lidzbark W was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 49 match minutes in a wonderful position. Borys Rakowski didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Through an outstanding action, after 57 minutes, Hieronim Gdowski successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ahmet Refik Ülgü fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hieronim Gdowski having to interfere. In the 63rd minute Gilmar Couto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georgi Velinov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th minute, Georgi Dimitrov reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hieronim Gdowski. The goal made the score 0-3. The FC CSKA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Georgi Velinov should have stopped the shot. Georgi Velinov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andres Ireno's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. After having played for 97 minutes, Ruslan Dzhalev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC CSKA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ruslan Dzhalev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC CSKA had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
