With an extended leg and a bit of luck Clem Fath prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 7 minutes into the match, Modlau's goal looked a bit too open when Rodd Laing came free, but Sebastian Winszman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clem Fath made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ortle Sancho in the 8th minute. In the 8th minute, Modlau's Ortle Sancho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Clem Fath. Clem Fath yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Sebastian Winszman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodd Laing in the 11th minute of play. Barry McCray could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Clem Fath made a huge save. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cosa nostra Lyon's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Barry McCray was slow to take the kick. During this time Modlau's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Modlau's Barry McCray to fire away a dangerous shot which Clem Fath despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Modlau's Sebastian Winszman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Modlau from getting a goal against them. Clem Fath showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ortle Sancho in the 58th minute of the match. Ortle Sancho hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After 64 minutes of play, Cosa nostra Lyon's Rodd Laing made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastian Winszman was left in no man's land by his defense there! 69 minutes into the game, Modlau's Ortle Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. When Erwann Patrice fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cosa nostra Lyon's protests and gave Erwann Patrice a yellow card for diving instead. Modlau's Lew Yashin was substituted for Yanislav Lechev. A collision led to Cosa nostra Lyon getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Clem Fath was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Juliusz Slazak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Clem Fath was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Modlau's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
