Gernando Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Jardel Sanches didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Andes FC - FSCMZ. 47 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ruy Montenegro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Ruy Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pipis Karapatakis in the 53rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Grêmio FBPA's Jardel Sanches got control of the ball when Amadeu do Nascimento tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 63 minutes, Amadeu do Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deivid de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Ruy Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pipis Karapatakis struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Ruy Montenegro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio FBPA. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio FBPA's zone, Amadeu do Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jardel Sanches came out of the goal and Amadeu do Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Grêmio FBPA getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Kaká Rot hit a great ball. Grêmio FBPA were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
