With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damaso Sancho in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jan-Åke Emander saved The Owls from getting behind. The Owls's Jan-Åke Emander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damaso Sancho in the 21st minute of play. Andrew Specht hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gino Galante in the 26th minute of play forced Congo Bongo's goalkeeper Máté Márton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The tension between the Congo Bongo and the The Owls players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Owls made a substitution. Ubarna Harroyo replaced Gino Galante. After 38 played minutes Congo Bongo got a freekick which was hit by Franz Beckenbauer. In the 42nd minute Ubarna Harroyo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Máté Márton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 50th match minute, The Owls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cyprian Karp to maneuver through the defense. In the 54th minute, Cristian Furdui reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Máté Márton. The goal made the score 0-3. Damaso Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Åke Emander having to interfere. Ubarna Harroyo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Máté Márton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ubarna Harroyo, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. A collision led to The Owls getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Corneliu Fox hit a great ball. The Owls's Jan-Åke Emander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Austin in the 74th minute of play. In the 75th minute of the match, Recep Talha Kutyan got a very nice opportunity to score, but Máté Márton was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 1-3 became the score in the 81st minute when Arnaldo Oidor elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, Sergio Austin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jan-Åke Emander. The Owls's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sergio Austin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. The supporters of Congo Bongo booed when The Owls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dănuț Lupu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wu Hong Ning hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The The Owls players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
