When Dănuț Lupu fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Owls's protests and gave Dănuț Lupu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 18th match minute, The Owls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dănuț Lupu to maneuver through the defense. After 19 played minutes The Owls got a freekick which was hit by Gino Galante. The Owls's Jan-Åke Emander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabríel Vassaras in the 26th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Ştefan Stoica dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jan-Åke Emander, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Creemers in the 35th minute of play forced Vc Brye's goalkeeper Henri-Patrick De Mare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Vc Brye's goal looked a bit too open when Gino Galante came free, but Henri-Patrick De Mare reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henri-Patrick De Mare showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gino Galante in the 38th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Vc Brye's Thomas Cochrane got a free kick in the 41st minute. Marcio Lacorte hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After having played for 43 minutes, William Creemers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Owls's supporters crossed their fingers, but William Creemers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

54 minutes in the game Thomas Cochrane did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Ştefan Stoica. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Cristian Furdui advanced and headed the ball into goal, 3-1 in the 61st minute. Ştefan Stoica recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute, Gabríel Vassaras left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vc Brye fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. The throw-in from Mariano Moya in the 67th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by The Owls's Cristian Furdui. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabríel Vassaras in the 69th minute of play forced The Owls's goalkeeper Jan-Åke Emander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute, Cristian Vieri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jan-Åke Emander was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. The Owls's Jan-Åke Emander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oyedeji Rau in the 74th minute of play. Gabríel Vassaras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Jan-Åke Emander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vc Brye's Fox 鲁迅 was substituted for Cristian Vieri. In the 81st minute Fox 鲁迅 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Åke Emander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan-Åke Emander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fox 鲁迅, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. With a little luck, Vc Brye's Henri-Patrick De Mare got control of the ball when Gino Galante tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jan-Åke Emander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabríel Vassaras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gino Galante blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Henri-Patrick De Mare having to make a save. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Vc Brye fully deserved thier win.
