Obregón Pardemanos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rahim Kornes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Ralf Albäck had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rahim Kornes. Seraċini Għawdxin's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ralf Albäck was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Ralf Albäck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Rahim Kornes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zhang Hao Qing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Song Wei Yun in the 17th minute of the match. Di Le Jun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Rahim Kornes made a huge save. 22 minutes into the match, Taltum FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Negro came free, but Zhang Hao Qing reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ralf Albäck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rahim Kornes having to interfere. Urko Vinuesa kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Seraċini Għawdxin's Rahim Kornes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Seraċini Għawdxin from getting a goal against them. The corner led Taltum FC's Roldan Castellanos to fire away a dangerous shot which Rahim Kornes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Filip Bejrut had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zhang Hao Qing. In the 35th minute Samuel Griffin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zhang Hao Qing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rahim Kornes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ralf Albäck in the 38th minute. After 38 minutes, Neil Degabriele mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Seraċini Għawdxin and the Taltum FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Neil Degabriele hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Taltum FC's Roldan Castellanos shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 39th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Rahim Kornes but with some difficulty. If Song Wei Yun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Seraċini Għawdxin getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Miguel Caruana hit a great ball. Rahim Kornes made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Ralf Albäck sent off a good shot on target. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Taltum FC were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after Seraċini Għawdxin's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Roldan Castellanos took the corner. Samuel Griffin spun around in front of the goal 55 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Taltum FC's goal. Taltum FC made a substitution. Flavio Cifuentes replaced Obregón Pardemanos. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Seraċini Għawdxin's goalkeeper Rahim Kornes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Taltum FC's Zhang Hao Qing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neil Degabriele in the 59th minute of play. Ralf Albäck took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rahim Kornes. Rahim Kornes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Cifuentes in the 66th minute of play forced Seraċini Għawdxin's goalkeeper Rahim Kornes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Taltum FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Negro came free, but Zhang Hao Qing reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Seraċini Għawdxin's goalkeeper Rahim Kornes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rahim Kornes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 95 minutes into the match, Seraċini Għawdxin's goal looked a bit too open when Norbert Dabrowski came free, but Rahim Kornes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Seraċini Għawdxin's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
