Paulo Godoi started the match with the kick off. Pavlos Konstantakakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Barbosa in the 8th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Valerian Podlich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Palestra do Interior's Percival Cruz got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Godoi in the 12th minute of play forced Hamburg Fighters's goalkeeper Pavlos Konstantakakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute of the match Palestra do Interior got a corner. Hamburg Fighters's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Percival Cruz ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Percival Cruz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hamburg Fighters's Pavlos Konstantakakis did a great save. Thanks to some nice moves Gianluca Balla could shoot a difficult shot in the 15th minute, which Allan Varela however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gianni Balla in the 20th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Allan Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Hamburg Fighters's Allan Varela threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gianni Balla, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Pavlos Konstantakakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percival Cruz in the 26th minute of play. Pavlos Konstantakakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romário Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Paulo Godoi put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Pavlos Konstantakakis. The audience was convinced that Paulo Godoi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pavlos Konstantakakis was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Palestra do Interior's Allan Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gianni Balla in the 56th minute of play. Allan Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dinu Bocu in the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gianni Balla in the 64th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Allan Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was a well-played corner which Brandon Rick managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Palestra do Interior's Vitório Lago was substituted for Paulo Godoi. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Dinu Bocu put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Allan Varela. Pavlos Konstantakakis made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when 吴洲坚 sent off a good shot on target. When 吴洲坚 came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Palestra do Interior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 吴洲坚 couldn't finish the play. Pavlos Konstantakakis made an important save on a dangerous shot by 吴洲坚 in the 81st minute. After a rather tough play, Hamburg Fighters's Maicon Fonseca got a free kick in the 87th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Vitório Lago notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Hamburg Fighters's Pavlos Konstantakakis. Pavlos Konstantakakis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 92nd minute, Gianni Balla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 93 played minutes Hamburg Fighters got a freekick which was hit by Maicon Fonseca. Hamburg Fighters's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when Vitório Lago scored to the left of an out of position Pavlos Konstantakakis, making the score, 2-3. The Hamburg Fighters manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Palestra do Interior to win.
