Agus Young who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Jailson Aparecido when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Aristide Ciuvică sped through Santa Lucia de Merlo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Florentino Herauso. In the 9th match minute, Santa Lucia de Merlo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kong Chang Zheng to maneuver through the defense. Florentino Herauso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Fantini in the 13th minute of play. In the 14th minute, one of Santa Lucia de Merlo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Santa Lucia de Merlo. Santa Lucia de Merlo:s Florentino Herauso showed great skill when he stopped Valter Malekin:s penalty. The supporters of Santa Lucia de Merlo booed when México Eterno MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dráusio de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. México Eterno MZC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when M. Agus Young 23 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. 28 minutes into the match, México Eterno MZC's goalkeeper Jailson Aparecido had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by M. Agus Young. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santa Lucia de Merlo's goalkeeper Florentino Herauso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Florentino Herauso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aristide Ciuvică's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Kong Chang Zheng made in the 36th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Bosse Spendrup. After a rather tough play, México Eterno MZC's Valter Malekin got a free kick in the 39th minute. Aristide Ciuvică scored 1-2 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Florentino Herauso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half México Eterno MZC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Aristide Ciuvică managed to get in a good position for a shot. México Eterno MZC's supporters rose to their feet, but Aristide Ciuvică was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florentino Herauso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Santa Lucia de Merlo's Polo Quinteros was substituted for M. Agus Young. Santa Lucia de Merlo's Florentino Herauso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aristide Ciuvică in the 63rd minute of play. Polo Quinteros took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jailson Aparecido. Jailson Aparecido dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. México Eterno MZC made a substitution. Richart Richardsson replaced Aristide Ciuvică. In the 73rd minute Richart Richardsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Herauso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Richart Richardsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Florentino Herauso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Richart Richardsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Polo Quinteros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Jailson Aparecido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Florentino Herauso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Dieter Gamache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the game, Kong Chang Zheng threw the ball into play from the sideline. México Eterno MZC's Valter Malekin quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Santa Lucia de Merlo's Florentino Herauso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richart Richardsson in the 93rd minute of play. Santa Lucia de Merlo succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though México Eterno MZC had controlled the match.
