Várzea F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 14th minute, when Bengt-Rune Fastesson scored to the left of an out of position Carlos Augusto Quintal, making the score, 1-0. 19 minutes into the match, Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Quintal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enzo Miccio. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bengt-Rune Fastesson got free with Carlos Augusto Quintal in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 29th minute, Bengt-Rune Fastesson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ACF Fiorentina fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0.
