The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardo Novaes got free with Gabriel Porfiro in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Lex Academy getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Bernardo Novaes hit a great ball. If Luis Vázquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Vázquez in the 42nd minute of play forced Lex Academy's goalkeeper Tomáš Houdek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomáš Houdek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Vázquez in the 45th minute of play. The supporters of Luganeros AFC booed when Lex Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radomir Wyrostek didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

If Rey Ronaldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomáš Houdek stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Janusz Ziemniak's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Lex Academy's Tomáš Houdek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Lex Academy from getting a goal against them.
