With a couple of smart ball manuevers Filomeno Mendebal in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomáš Houdek saved Lex Academy from getting behind. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Los Materos FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Roman Jursa was slow to take the kick. During this time Lex Academy's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Los Materos FC's goalie and right to Otmar Schovánek. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Los Materos FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Lazaros Kabantais made an important save on a dangerous shot by Otmar Schovánek in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Novaes in the 35th minute of play forced Los Materos FC's goalkeeper Lazaros Kabantais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Los Materos FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Filomeno Mendebal to strike the kick off in the second half. Tomáš Houdek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horacio Abajas in the 57th minute of the match. Los Materos FC's Braulio Milian was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tomáš Houdek in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The referee felt a red card was in order, 95 minutes into the game, when Paco Arzola put in a rough tackle. Paco Arzola kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Lex Academy's Tomáš Houdek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Braulio Milian in the 97th minute of play. The Lex Academy supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Los Materos FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Los Materos FC.
