The Brugge United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vítor Baia should have stopped the shot. If Nistor Sârban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. In the 48th match minute, Rega Merida CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nistor Sârban to maneuver through the defense.
